Giving Tuesday is an opportunity to make our communities stronger one act of giving at a time. Please join us in supporting local organizations on Tuesday, December. 1. Getting started is easy!  In the Northeast, our 2020 focus is combating food insecurity. We're excited to partner with Foodshare and Loop Ministry in that effort. 

1.     Join Us: Tune in at 11:00 a.m. for a Virtual Kick off to learn about our Giving Tuesday partners and hear how your donation can make an impact on food insecurity. 

2.     Donate*: Amplify your impact. For every $2 donated on Thrivent’s giving platform on December 1st, Thrivent will match $1.

3.     Celebrate: Share photos, messages of gratitude, and inspiration in honor of our featured nonprofits. Between November 24 and December 1, for each photo or message posted to their fundraising page, Thrivent will donate an additional $1 up to $1,000 per organization.

 

*Donations made online through Thrivent’s giving platform on Giving Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2020, will be matched up to $20,000 per Thrivent Member Network. Thrivent, in partnership with InFaith Community Foundation, offers you the opportunity to make online personal donations to the organizations you care about.

Michael has been releasing new music regularly and performing around the world to sold-out crowds for the last 30+ years. During his storied career, he’s written 32 No. 1 singles, been honored with three Grammy Awards and 45 Dove Awards, was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame and has sold more than 15 million albums. He’s also given back to the global community. Michael has raised funds to battle AIDS in Africa; started Rocketown, a safe haven for young people in Tennessee to meet and find hope; and has helped more than 70,000 children through Compassion International.

Feed Northeast Thrivent  Action Team Initiative

Here’s your chance to help combat food insecurity for local families!  Here's how it works:

  • Go to Thrivent.com/actionteam to apply for a Thrivent Action Team project using code FEEDNE2020. Apply before October 10 to be sure you receive your materials in time.
  • Form a Thrivent Action Team to collect food items in your church, school or community. 
  • Collect food items between Oct. 1 and Oct. 31, 2020.
  • Email your proof of performance* to BoxTMNNortheast@Thrivent.com by November 15, 2020.
  • The first 100 completed Thrivent Action Teams that gather at least 500 items for donation to a local soup kitchen or food pantry will see a $500 check go to the benefiting food pantry, once verified*.

*“Verified” means that the completed Thrivent Action Team was applied for using the FEEDNE2020 code, the collection was held during the month of October, and proof of performance was emailed to BoxTMNNortheast@thrivent.com by Nov. 15, 2020. Entry must include the name and address of the Thrivent Action Team applicant, the total number of items collected, the name of the benefiting food pantry, a copy of its valid form W-9, and a picture of the 500 food items.

Thrivent members residing in Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington D.C. are eligible to support their favorite hunger-fighting 501(c)(3)—so long as the organization can provide a valid form W-9.
