Listen, Learn and Act

When there is a need, Thrivent members are quick to listen, learn and act. Below are some of the creative ways Thrivent is seeing members use Thrivent Action Teams to bring together friends and family to learn and act to address community needs.

Learn. Consider hosting a virtual book club or get together to connect with and learn alongside those close to you. Explore resources from your local library, bookstores, or faith leaders to help inform your conversations on issues of race and how it plays into your daily lives, families and experiences.

Give. Passionate about their local community organizations, members are raising funds to help those who need it most. Consider hosting a virtual fundraiser to support a local organization tackling these important issues. Reach out to your friends, family and co-workers and ask them to not only donate but spread the word of giving to their networks and expand your reach. Seed money can be used to purchase thank you notes and postage to share your gratitude.

Act. Our members are living in service, as they supply food, hygiene products and repair supplies to help rebuild their communities. Take action alongside them by hosting a drive with your friends, family and co-workers for essential items and provide contactless drop off at your home. Seed money can be used to purchase supplies like boxes or other items to transport the donations to the recipient organization. Please check in with your local outreach organizations to see what is in need and how they can best receive the supplies.
