Mike is the principal at the law firm Fiffik Law Group, P.C. in Pittsburgh and has been selected to the Pennsylvania SuperLawyers list for business and corporate law since 2013. The 20-year Thrivent member is an Elder at Ascension Lutheran Church. “I strongly support Thrivent’s mission of bringing faith and finances together to help as many people as possible to give generously. To the extent that I can bring my own experiences to bear, I hope to help Thrivent think strategically in order to grow and expand its mission and connection to the greater regional community."

As the Vice President of Network Distribution for the TCT Network, I have firsthand experience in the challenges and joys of fulfilling the Great Commission. I believe the mission of helping people to live generously is vital to impacting the world for God! I hope to promote and expand Thrivent’s mission of generosity and grow member engagement through my expertise in multi-denominational ministry.

Hassay is the managing partner of Maguire Schneider Hassay, LLP, a law firm in the Columbus, Ohio. Hassay joined MSH in 1998, and became a partner in 2004. He began private practice in 1991 as a civil litigator. His firm prides itself as a leader in affordable access to high quality legal care, an important access to justice mission to help our communities. "The combination of personal financial well being and concern for your larger community in one organization is a spectacular concept." Hassay look forward to applying his 22 years of knowledge as a Managing Partner to help expand Thrivent's Mission.

Ponitz has served two terms on the Thrivent Board. With almost 25 years in corporate foundation and community relations leadership, she brings extensive knowledge of community building, social innovation and diversity/equity/inclusion to the team. “It has been challenging, professional fun to work with this outstanding region. Participating in the growth and innovation of company who cares fiercely for its members is incredibly rewarding.”

Upton serves as the Executive Director of Building Hope in the City, a faith-based organization that partners with local congregations, people and communities to see the city restored to God. He has also been a Thrivent member for a number of years. Upton sees his role as a board member as an opportunity to meaningfully support the expansion of Thrivent's business and philanthropic model.

As Co-Founder and Chief Financial Officer for the Kenan Advantage Group, North America's largest tank truck hauler and logistics provider, Young hopes his financial savvy and 35-year membership with Thrivent will be an asset to the board. "I like what Thrivent stands for. I think I bring a perspective that will be helpful in getting them active in many more congregations."
