Regional leadership
The Thrivent Member Network regional board is made up of Thrivent clients with membership. The board provides leadership and strategic insights to help carry out Thrivent's mission on a local level. Clients with membership can have a voice by voting in the elections for the Thrivent Member Network board.
Davidson, a Thrivent member since 2013, is the superintendent of Timothy Christian School in Elmhurst. In his role on the board, Davidson hopes to further the mission of Thrivent in the Christian community—to provide resources, opportunities and inspiration for others to live generously by connecting their faith with their finances.
Champagne is the Assistant General Counsel for Beam Suntory. He is a Member of the Global Leadership Team providing legal advice and support on matters pertaining to the business, including commercial activity, contracts and transactions, operations and supply chain, litigation, environment health and safety, advertising and marketing, sales, distribution, strategy, regulatory and compliance. Champagne is also a Thrivent client. He hopes to provide additional Board Governance and promote Diversity and Inclusion among regional strategies.
Ferguson is the co-founding and teaching pastor of Community Christian Church, a church that has grown from 5 to more than 6,500 people at 11 sites in Chicagoland since 1989. A newer Thrivent member, Ferguson hopes to use his experience and leadership in the non-profit sector to help expand the work Thrivent already is doing in the area.
Chris Lesner is the Founder & CEO of Project World Impact. He is also an advisor to many for-profit and nonprofit organizations across the country. Chris brings a unique skill set that is helping Thrivent continue to grow it's reach and impact the lives of others.
Yurko is the president and CEO of Northern Illinois Food Bank, which provides fresh nutritious groceries to neighbors in need throughout the Chicago suburbs and Northern Illinois. Last year the Food Bank provided the equivalent of 80 million meals to nearly a half a million men, women, seniors and children. A Thrivent member for more than 20 years, Yurko hopes to encourage individuals and families to understand their personal financial situations and intentionally plan for beautiful, worry-free futures.
Our leaders work in the best interest of our membership––not third-party shareholders, like publicly traded companies. Clients with a benefit membership can vote in the annual election for the Thrivent Board of Directors. As the organization’s supreme governing body, the board focuses on serving the interests of the membership, both now and into the future. The board establishes and promotes Thrivent’s purpose and oversees major business decisions, and works with leadership to assess and manage risk.
